Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble (Psalm 107.1-2). Those of us who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary, who have been redeemed from the clutches of the enemy, who have been redeemed from the course of sinful desires and the bondage of sinful activity, who have been redeemed from an eternity separated from God and the wrath of His judgment, who have been redeemed to hope, freedom from sin, and into an eternal relationship with the Almighty, Sovereign, Creator, Sustainer God – may we boldly give thanks to the LORD. In recognizing all He has so graciously done, may we be consistent to ever give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. All our Lord has done, is doing, and promises to do in the future is good. There is nothing but goodness in Him and His sovereign design.
May we give thanks to the LORD for he has redeemed us from all our trouble. During the course of our days, we may not “feel” or “think” that we have been redeemed from all our troubles; we may not see how our troubles are working for anything good. Our troubles can be hard, miserable, tiring, discouraging; they can be caused by the lashes of the enemy and the wickedness of others, or because of our own sinful decisions. However, may we keep our perspective knowing our Lord is good and He will accomplish His good purpose even through our troubles. May we pray to be strong in the midst of trials and keep our eyes focused on our redeeming Lord. He knows us, loves us, cares for us, and will provide for our every need. May we be encouraged, as we will know full redemption from all trouble when we see Jesus. Though we may not see it or feel it now, may we live in what we know to be true – the LORD is good, for his steadfast love endures forever… he has redeemed from trouble all those who are His.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
Redeemed – we have much to be thankful for –
