Knowing of the resurrection of believers at the return of Jesus Christ gives us great hope. We look forward to being translated from this earth, given a new body, and being made imperishable and immortal; we anticipate the coming of Christ when we will leave the troubles and pains of this life to live in the fullness of our Saviors perfection and glory. Now, we wait in expectation of seeing our Lord face to face. However, in the meantime we must endure living in this fallen world which is totally impacted with sin; we must endure the trials and temptations of life, the unwanted circumstances and experiences. We can endure; we can live in a manner pleasing to the Lord; we can move through each day with hope, knowing our Lord reigns supreme overall, that these days are but a moment in light of eternity; we can trust our Lord to provide for us exactly what we need every day. “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15.57-58).
Therefore, may we stand firm in the truth of His Word, enjoying today’s victories given us through Jesus Christ and the indwelling work of His Holy Spirit. May we be ever “steadfast” in our faith; firm in the truth of Scriptures and being resolved to not waver. May we be “immovable” in our faith; not taken aside by the whims of the world or the enticing philosophies of man, but fully trusting the Lord in every situation. May we be “always abounding” in doing the Lord’s work, choosing to live in harmony with His Word and knowing we have been placed in Jesus Christ through His redemptive work; may we be willing to be used by Him in accomplishing His purpose through us. We can have confidence, that no matter how we may feel or what may be happening in our lives, living in Christ will never be in vain.
Living in victory, now and eternally – we have much to be thankful for –
