In a world of uncertainty, we are secure in Christ; in times of many unknowns, we are safe in our Savior; in days of confusion, we are confident in our Lord. There is nothing of this world which can eternally harm us; there is nothing which can remove our salvation; there is nothing which can take away the hope we have in Christ. Having been redeemed through the blood of Christ and indwelt by the Spirit of the Living God, we are forever safe as His children. Though we can face times of great trouble and trials, of difficulties and heartaches, of weariness and struggles, we are still secure as the children of the Almighty God who is at work in us for our benefit and for His glory. Though we can face the mean arrows of the enemy, the fierceness of the sinful flesh, and unrelenting temptations designed to entice us with evil, in all this we are still secure in Christ, kept in His love, and surrounded by His saving power. There is none which can condemn us, for we are justified in Christ; there is none which can rip away our new nature, for we have been given new life in Christ; there is none which can remove our adoption, for we have our names written in the “Lamb’s Book of Life.”
Throughout our days, may we hold firmly to the truth of God’s redemptive love in which He has loved us when we were most unlovable, and to His saving grace in which He has given us the very opposite of what we deserve. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?… No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8.35-39).
Secure in Christ – we have much to be thankful for –
