David’s House Ministries located in Wyoming, MI “exists to extend God’s love and foster a community of care to adults with special needs.” David’s House (DHMIN) is committed to providing wonderful homes to 71 individuals. Owning 8 Adult Foster Care (AFC) homes and providing services to 2 privately owned AFC homes in West Michigan, they have a passion to help individuals who are unable to live independently and their families. Having been established in 1987 with one home for ten men, the Ministry has maintained its original focus to minister to every aspect of an individual – body, soul, and spirit. Their website defines these as:
Body: David’s House values the quality and benevolent care of the whole person and the dignity and loving support of each member of our community.
Soul: David’s House values the community of soulful care created when residents, staff, and partners come together in relationship with one another.
Spirit: David’s House values the Christ-centered faith-foundation of the ministry that views each community member as created in God’s image.
As many of you know we have a son severely impaired with autism, with an additional diagnosis of epilepsy. Jonathan has had the privilege of living at David’s House Ministries for about 14 years. As a family we are richly blessed to know he has a “forever home” where he is loved and provided for in a wonderful environment.
Each year in September a “Run-Ride-Walk” Fundraising event is held to assist in providing funds to meet their ongoing expenses. This year the event is scheduled for September 9.
